….a mini adventure, in an attempt to check off the list some places we wanted to see. Some for the first time and some partly a repeat of a trip my husband and I did six years ago. It has been a memorable trip and I hope one that our five year old will be able to recall in the years to come. I’ve taken a load of photographs which I need to look through and sort and I am sure they will not do justice to the amazing landscapes we have seen – however, they will help with the memories. Here is a quick summary:
- We covered 1510 miles
- We visited three different states
- We were away for 7 nights and slept in 6 different hotels
- We explored two National Parks and one Preserve
- We walked on a bit of England that was moved stone by stone
- We walked in the desert and on the south rim of the Grand Canyon
- We crossed the state line on foot over the Hoover Dam
- We explored a ghost town, went in a mine and had a train ride
- We climbed sand dunes and walked on salt flats at 282ft below sea level
- We saw the desert in bloom, flowers among the rocks and dirt of a harsh landscape
- We climbed, scrambled and slide in canyons
- ‘We’ earned two Junior Ranger awards!
It looks like it was a wonderful trip! I am sure many things from this adventure will be remembered. Precious memories!
Sounds like a fab trip Sarah and one you will remember for many years to come x
